This tool converts a meeting time into local times for each of your team locations and shows whether it falls within working hours, is early or late, or is a genuinely unreasonable ask.
Timezone arithmetic is easy to get wrong. This tool does it for you and gives a clear verdict: working hours, early morning, late evening, or night time. If you are still finding it difficult, the Timezone Overlap Finder shows which hours work as an overlap window across your team.
How we work it out
Working hours are defined as 9am to 5pm in each location. Early morning is 7am to 9am. Late evening is 5pm to 8pm. Anything outside those windows, or on a weekend, is flagged as night time or weekend.
How it's worked out
- The date and time you enter is changed into each place's local time.
- Each place gets a status. 9am to 5pm on a weekday is working hours. 7am to 9am and 5pm to 8pm are early and late warnings. Anything else, including weekends, is outside hours.
- The summary counts how many places are fine, how many get a warning and how many are outside hours.
A meeting at 3pm in London is 10am in New York, which is working hours. It is 7am in Los Angeles, which is an early morning warning.
Common mistakes
- Checking only the start time. A meeting that starts at a fine hour can end late for someone.
- Forgetting daylight saving. Places change their clocks on different dates.
- Always picking the same awkward time for the same people. Rotate it.
Questions
Does this account for daylight saving time?
Yes. Times are calculated using the Intl API, which uses the actual timezone offset for the selected date, including any daylight saving adjustment in effect on that date.
What timezone is the meeting time entered in?
Your browser's local timezone. The tool converts from your local time to each selected location. If you want to enter a specific UTC or other timezone, convert first before entering.
What do the warnings mean?
A place is marked early if the meeting is between 7am and 9am there, and late if it is between 5pm and 8pm. Anything else outside 9am to 5pm, and any weekend, is marked outside hours.
Why is the same time a different day in some places?
When it is late evening in one place it can already be the next day somewhere further east. The planner shows each place's own date and time.
