Subscription Cost Calculator
Add your subscriptions and see the true annual total. Monthly amounts feel small. Annually, they add up faster than you expect.
per year on subscriptions
Subscription costs are psychologically underestimated because they are paid in small, spread-out amounts. This tool converts them all to an annual total so you can see the real number.
The average household now has 12 or more paid subscriptions. Each one feels manageable at the time of sign-up. Together they often exceed what people spend on their phone bill, gym, and commute combined. The annual view tends to be the useful one.
How we work it out
Monthly subscriptions are multiplied by 12. Annual subscriptions are divided by 12 to get a monthly equivalent, then the monthly total is multiplied by 12. All figures are in the currency you select.
Questions
What counts as a subscription?
Streaming services, software tools, cloud storage, news sites, gym memberships, food boxes, apps, music, games, productivity suites. If you pay a recurring fee for it, it counts.
What about free trials?
They are not free. They convert to paid subscriptions automatically. If you cannot name the exact date your trial ends, add it to the list now.
Should I include annual subscriptions I pay as a lump sum?
Yes. Switch the billing toggle to annual and enter the total you pay. The tool will calculate the monthly equivalent so everything is comparable, and include the full amount in the annual total.
